RE: Bad J3 Problem - PLEASE HELP
What Cub are we working on
lets start by eliminating the most common problems
1st test the batt and be sure it is indeed charged properly
you should cycle your battery a couple of times, now if your motor won't spin up this could be difficult to do
try charging your batt till it gets good and warm, then right away hook it up and try the motor
if it doesn't spin try holding the reset button down while giving it throttle, if the motor comes to life the reset circuit is bad. this button is a safety feature that creates more headaches than it helps, IMHO,,, I used to always cut mine out and solder the wires together.
If the motor doesn't run then check ALL your connections very carefully, tug on the wires a little to insure they are secure to all coponents
If you have a volt meter, test the leads at the motor while holding the throttle at full, this way you know if the power is getting to the motor
you can also take a d cell batt and tape wires to each end than touch them to the leads of the motor, this will tell you if the motor is working or not
Always, always remember to remove the prop when doing these test
