Default RE: Dalotel

Hello Frank and all the others who love Dalotels! I am Obi Mapua, and after reading your posts, I am tickled pink that my design from 1983 is still very much alive! And what's more, you enjoy the way it flies. I was able to find one that I made, after 20+ years, from a modeler who was moving house. I bought it back from him, and then put in a new Thunder Tiger 46 PRO engine on it. When I flew it, I was shocked!! It had much more power than the 45s that powered my Dalotel 20 years ago! Lunar verticals, if you can believe that...The engines today have much more "oomph" in them. Sadly, I had to hang up my Dalotel, as flying a 20 year old plane is not really recommended. The glue and wood are so dry, that a bad jolt would shatter the airframe. After reading the thread, I am so tempted to "upgrade" the plan. I made a 61 version, and this was a nice flyer too. I am still actively designing model aircraft; my latest on the board is a Yak-55, foam cores are cut; this is a 2-meter airplane, to be powered by a ZDZ 40 RE.
