I'd given up hope on this thread. Those hinges have potential; I'll order some to play with. They look heavy duty enough. I was resigned to using the biggest Robart hinge points, but on the other big plane I have with them, several have broken at the pin, from vibration, I guess. It would be nice to be able to remove the control surface for repairs and maintenance without an act of Congress or having to gouge out the hinges. The hinge pockets that Robart make would be okay, but I don't want the little holes for access to the set screws, and the size hole needed for the pocket would potentially weaken the hinge line spar.
