RE: skyshark kits no more
Hey guys, I just bought a Skyshark FW-190 A-8 kit from my LHS and I've been reading all of the threads from you. I also got into this hobby when most of the airplanes in the air were wood-built kits. Two things come to mind here, #1 $300+ for a .60 size warbird wood kit is high cosidering H9 (all wood) ARFs are not much more, but they don't make any Axis fighters. #2 Have you guys seen what prices the older .60 size Royal, Pica, etc. warbird kits are going for? I like the wood kits in a since you have more flexiblity in what you want: color scheme and modifications (retracts installed while building). If the price is the biggest problem we have here, then we all end up flying the same cheaper ARF models and have no interesting models at the the flying field. To sum everything up, we really need to support the LHS and the quality RC manufacturer who is trying to give us what we want. Too many good manufacturers have already gone by the way side and it's too bad.
