OK disconnect the rods going to the swash plate and move the swash up and down by hand and see if there is any tight or sticky places. It sounds like it is binding. If I remember correctly the cp2 has some binding in the head assembly. Inside the flybar mechanism. Look there for it. If it is not binding then you could have some slack in the head.
