Default RE: Moki 2.1 Tuning Help

ORIGINAL: overpower

I have 5 Moki 2.1's and 1 Moki 1.8. Love the engines, but I developed a problem with one of the engines.
It had 5 gallons run thru it for break in before mounting in the plane. Nice Idle and great top end. However,
the transition and midrange is terrible. I just cant figure this one out. It seems that no matter how I adjust
the motor, I am not "hitting" the right settings to get a smooth, reliable transition. It seems that the midrange
has very little variation between throttle settings. The low speed wheel is in the stock position and I adjust the
HSN for max, minus about 300 rpm, which gives me a nice smoke trail and reliable power. My son began
doing 3D with it and noticed the problems.. Any ideas?

Have you tried installing a carb from one of the others on a process of elimination?
