the power -a at best -is about like a OS1.2 four stroke -and weight with ignition a bit more - props - 16x8 are about right - APC probably the best.
I agree and disagree with you Dick on that one. I think the RCS 1.4 has a bit more power than a 1.20 4 stroke, but not as much as a 1.20 2 stroke. The review plane I am doing this month had a Saito 1.2 on it and although it flew well, it did not perform as well as the RCS did. Also, the APC 16 x 8 is a good prop, but very heavy. Nice if you want to maintain a good idle, but not as good for quick response as a 17 x 7 or 18 x 6. I have a MentzS 18 x 6 on my FW3D with the 1.4 and the throttle response is a ton better than the APC 16 x 8 that I had. Plus, the plane hovers at a little less than half throttle, where the APC was more like 1/2 to 3/4.

I wil try to get some numbers with the pitts muffler that I am running with the MentzS prop. The enine is not broken in yet and is still spitting some black dots.
