Default U-Can-Do 60 with OS 91FX and other suggestions

I am in a build for this model. I plan to use an OS91FX. I ordered a Bission inverted muffler in advance. Well, I did the engine check and this is not going to fit inside the cowell. Now I need to find a new muffler or use the stock one. Any help would be appreciated.

I have read a lot of information and suggestions. I guess I need to add some ply under the landing gear. I have also had suggestions of knocking out the #6 hardware and tapping the wood for 1/4 x 20 nylon. I also saw one option to use nylon #6 screws and add one 1/4x20 (three screws total). I would like to know what mods have worked to strengthen the landing gear. My landings are generally gentle but we do have a fairly rough field.

What about sealing the control surface hinge areas? I have read about using hinge tape. Are there any other recommendations or just leave it alone.

I thought the suggestion of leaging the extra axle length and letting it extend out the other side of the wheel pant. It did not look bad. A local recommended not putting the wheel pants on. I guess these have been known to come off?

I also saw issues with gluing on the canopy. I have the recommended glue. So glue, screws, or what? I also have some canopy trim I could use.

Tru-turn has made some suggestions on a spinner. The provided one is pretty small. I will probably use a 14 x 5, 14 x 6, or 15 x 4 prop. I am planning to wait on the spinner and fly without it until I settle on a prop. I am using a 14 x 6 on a Big Stik and it works very well turning about 10,800 and unlimited vertical.

I also do not like the tail wheel assembly! I was thinking of using a Sullivan. Does anyone have recommendations in this area? I checked and it seems like the bottom of the fuse is solid and would support the Sullivan 60 - 90 size.

Any and all info would really be appreciated. I will update on how it goes.

Thanks a million.
