Budget a $1000 to get started in racing.
I have to agree with SManMTB. If you look at everything you will need to race and be atleast semi competative it would be around $1000.00. Between Chassis, engine (W/O onboard starting system), starter box, tuned pipe, servos ( and not cheap ones ), transmitter and receiver, fuel, glow plugs, glow starter, batteries, all needed charging devices, and I personaly like to have atleast one replacement part for everything on my buggy ( I don't like to pay an entry fee and go home early due to mechanical failure). It cost a lot of money to get serious in this hobby. You can get an RTR and have fun, but you won't be able to race out of the box for a low amount.
