Could someone please explain the fascination on super rare tanks or those that never were? Sturmtigers only numbered a dozen and the E=100 was never totally assembled and running outside of one prototype. Panther II had the same fate, with the war ending before the turret could be matched to the chassis and was never used.....but there seems to be a fascination drawing people to these tanks. The E-100 is a cool looking tank with nice lines, but like the Jagdtiger and Maus, nearly useless outside of a serving as semi mobile pillbox which could only move to the nearest bridge and stop. [&:][&:][&:] At 85 tons and underpowered E-100 would have been merely an artillery or P-51 target. [&o]
The fascination? That would be that they are R/C tanks (not real) [X(] and when something is not available people tend to want it more. Paper panzers, prototypes, one off modifications ... bring 'em on!
