Would I have to replace the servos on both planes to use either of those options?

I swapped the crystals from the art -tech tx and rx and put them in the zx10 tx and rx but there was no response which made me think that I might need to get a specific make/model of crystal for the ZX10 tx/rx...Is this correct or can I simply put in any crystal into the tx/rx once they are the same channel?
