Thanks for the thoughts on the ply sheeted wings. I might alter the plans on that too then, and sheet it.
Does that apply to the full area of the wings, or just a part? And also the bottom wings?
Watch the weight, but the entire top and bottom surface of both wings is sheeted on the full-scale. Ailerons and flaps are metal covered, and smooth--no corrugations like the other WACO's have.
Hi there. Still not sure about how to go on this.
One thing I don't understand is, on the full-scale the wings are sheeted. But isn't this then also covered with fabric?
So then why should the weave not be shown?
My 1/6th model is 69-1/2" in wingspan. I'm still worrying about the weight (or wing-loading) but do want to get the scale and scale-look right.
I am now considering sheeting with 1/64" ply. But I also need to decide what to cover this with...
I could still go for the Oratex and then something else to fill the weave before painting?
What would you do?
