Default RE: Saito 91 on Gasoline

Yes, the SuperTigre G51 uses the standard glow carburetor but I have now modified it just slightly. I ran it unmodified for about 10 hrs before deciding to make changes to lean the area just slightly off idle. I changed the angle of the slot that is milled into the throttle barrel at the end where low end mixture is controlled. For about the first quarter of throttle movement it doesn't move out as much as it used to leaving the idle needle in the cats eye (fuel discharge) just a little longer to make it leaner just off idle. The mid range and high end are unaffected by doing this. The engine throttles as good, after the mod, as any glow engine I have ever owned.

I also have a SuperTigre 90 that I am converting and have made an adapter to mount a Walbro carb. I have also converted the rod to needle bearings so I can run it at lower oil ratios. I ordered the ignition for it last night and hope to start running it on the test bench soon. (As soon as CH can make and ship the ignition and about 1 week for shipping)
