Default RE: Reduction drive for 50cc to 85cc singles

There are a number of approaches - I have tried several
Mine weree used for performance models so I had to watch weight
the G62 unit you mentioned is heavy -unsuitable for a performance model -
The first performance setup I saw that actually worked --was Hanno Prettner's twin glo 60 to a center gear-at 2-1 ratio
it was almost silent in the air and the engine used two tuned muffled pipes. very successful but trick yto get running smoothly
OS made some very clever encased setups for glo 60's which had a uneven gear setup -called a hunting tooth arrangement - so - the driving gears all had a chance to see all the driven gears .
I used these with tuned pipes and the power was extremely good -we ran 15x10 at 10000 the noise was very high.
I made a dual Wankle 30 on a common pylon arrangement -2-1 and turned the engines at 18000-19000 very good power but the Gilmer belts would wear too quickly. A commercial attempt for larger engines was to use 4 v belts
a flop- I don't know who made that one -I had it for years -gave it away
the fact that the big singles have at least one node which induces vibration - makes a light weight setup -difficult
Gilmer belts Poly V belts work - but the solid frame work required makes the whole thing pretty much of a novelty.
a large twin is a better approach -anyway you cut it.
