I have never driven either, but losi uses a similar system on their xxx4 offroad buggy so I dought that it would be suspectible to picking up dirt or rocks. That's just my opinion. I have a tamiya TA03F which was my first rc car and that has belt drive, and it seems to work pretty well except for the set screws on the pullys that seem to come out after a time even with threadlock.It has never picked up any debris and I have had it for over 6 months now.
