RE: YS 110fz engine problem
Please start a new thread on this subject this doesn't really apply to the above problems...
A little drip form the carb at idle is sometimes normal. Also make sure to filter filter filter your fuel. Any little crumbs or gunk will get in those regulators and keep them from closing down. I put a filter on fueling jug to keep the crap in the jug. Then I have a filter on the model up near the engine so that anything that gets into the tank or the filling lines doesn't get to the engine.
Your engine is running just a little rich. I has the 110S and on a 15-10 APC with the 30% heli. My model has a 20oz tank and I fly with probably an average throttle setting of about 1/2...I get about 14mins. So your numbers are not too far off. Considering you are mostly at full power.
You are likely flying with a little too much throttle to conserve fuel. This combined with a rich setting on the top end....you are going to see more fuel flowing through the engine. The engine will make a ton of power as you have seen but it takes fuel to do it.
Now that you have it setup correctly. Which what you describe with the 2000rpm idle and the transition you describe......use a tach and peak the engine to max RPM and back it off 200-300rpm from that peak to the rich side.. This is the proper High speed needle setting and will make sure you are not too rich. You should be able to do this after about 10-15 runs on the engine. Another thing to look at is your tappet adjustment. This will affect power output...not really mixture...but if they are not adjusted properly and too loose it will make things less efficient and perhaps your extra fuel might be going through and out the exhaust stack.
