Default RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Well my TVV!$T 40 Is starting to show some wear and tear. 2 Flights Wednsday afternoon and The Tail wheel is starting to look like it wants to fall off.. Getting loose and floppy From side to side, its stock So i should have known this was going to happen. It's the PNP Plane So it was assembled at the factory. If it would have been the ARF i would have installed the Better Tail Gear during it's assembley..

I have this as a replacment wheel actually i have 4 Just for this..

So what i'm wondering is how i'm going to be able to remove the Rudder without causing a bunch of damage to it and the structure Since it appears to have CA Higes holding the rudder on. I'm thinking that i might Just cut the hinges with a sharp exacto and change them to some small robart hinges. Has anyone else Modified there hinge points on there TVV!$T 40.?
Or is it best to Just replace them with the same type hinges Since using a robart hinge system may leave a slight gap between the surfaces.. I have this problem with my Extra 330L using robart hinges and have to get some covering to close the gap between the flight Surfaces to prevent Flutter. Just wondering what others might have done with there Hinges and control surfaces..
