With gas, I do not clear coat. As fryfly states, it gets tougher with time, and I do not have a problem with chipping or peeling after about 6-8 months. It does take quite a while for a full cure,
it seems. But, if it lasts 20 years on a house...... As for glow, I have clearcoated with the Top Flite flat clear. Only need a mist coat to protect.
