RE: Source of Briggs 34cc Four Stroke for Conversion
I bought Teched88's motor. It locked up on me after an hours run. Nasty score down the right side of the cylinder. I broke one of the rings getting it off. Then re-honed the cylinder, reassembled the motor and its running again. One ring one oil wiper. The rpm is the same or a bit more than with 2 rings. For some reason the carb is too lean. Even new in the plastic housing it would not run full open unless the choke lever was halfway closed. Even with a prop it will not run full throttle unless I keep it partially choked.
Should I drill out the brass jet a bit?? It is embossed with the # 38. By the way the motor is turning 5600 rpm with an APC 20-8.
The idle is 1800.
