Default RE: Fiberglass?

And I'm not down on fiberglass either. It's worked excellently well for a bunch of parts and such over the years. I've got a number of parts that've lasted many, many years, and a couple of models from years past. I had a Windsong that went through hell for a couple of years. And it went through it at over 100mph some days. Great cross country glider. And I've got a K-Minnow that looks as good today as it did when it came out of the kit box.

Glass that's done right is hard to beat. Pretty shapes. Good strength. And with the epoxies and cloths we've got today, we could be experiencing awesome ARFs. But we aren't.

And that's the point.

I've only seen a Lancair in a box at a LHS and have no idea how brittle the resin is. And not seen one fly, much less hit hard or soft. But my advice would be that if the ARF is only $108 then if you get what you pay for, you'll get at least $108 worth of pretty. 'Cause it surely is pretty.
