To rebind you need to put the bind plug in the Batt pin in the receiver. I think on the DX6i there is a switch or something to go into bind mode. After the bind plug is in, plug the battery in. Then do turn the transmitter on and do the binding process. When you say it is acting like the helicopter is on, are the rotors spinning or are the servos moving. As a side note did you get the servo horn 90 degrees to the servo and is your swashplate still level?
