The only thing you use subtrim is for is to center the servo horn to get it to 90 degrees. Then you level the swashplate with the links. The rotor turning when plugging the battery in is a major safety issue. If you have the instructions to reprogram the ESC I would recommend doing that so it can tell were the low throttle is. And rebind it and make sure the throttle is all the way down.
