Diesel is named after the guy that created the compression-ignition engine (Rudolph Diesel, 1890's), so anything that can fuel a compression ignition engine could really be called Diesel fuel (like Bio-diesel)
I think I'm going to start confusing the help at the local fast food restaurants (not a hard thing to do) by asking them for diesel-fries.
"Hi, can I please get a set of Diesel-fries, and, um....fill'er up!"
