What kind of battery do you have on there? It probably had some charge in it when shipped if its NIMH. Try running it down then charging again at 1 amp. I had a dynamite prophet plus and it false peaked quite a bit. You may not have the budget right now but I'd start saving for a better charger. After getting a new charger I don't think I'll ever go back to a dynamite.
