RE: Ziroli P38 boom design problem
Dear Dave
A very valid point regarding the skinning of the booms.
I don't know how the booms were skinned I will ask Peter about that.
Sharing information regarding building techniques and potential problem areas with models is a very good idea.
Building from plans does leave alot to the imagination of the builder.
It would be good if the designers (who I have a lot of admiration for) of these models, could put a note or two on the plans
how things should be done. Particularly in high stress areas.
I agree also with the chap who mentioned balancing control surfaces.
A very good idea.
Hopefully this thread will have drawn attention to potential weak points on any model and people will think twice
when building them. If it saves one model going down it will have been worth it.
Dave, good luck with your P38, if it flies anything like Peter's Ziroli P38 you will be a very happy man.
Perhaps you could post some pics of it on here or on a seperate thread?
The P38 is one of the nicest models I have ever flown (thirty years on Warbirds and Jets).
I can't wait to get her back in the air where she belongs.
Regards Phil Goff.
