Default RE: CP PRO Head speed

Hey Carl,

I am at about the same stage as you, a couple of weeks ago, I was also trying to "tame" my CPP Pro as well...now I've finally managed to hover my first entire battery in a 6x6 area! Don't get discouraged, it'll get easier!

The biggest two things I did to tame my CPP was to put in some exponential, (I'll get to that in a sec) and to add one flybar weight to each side, it really helps slow down the response of the cyclic inputs quite a bit. You don't have to use the Eflite ones, I just got some DuBro ones, much cheaper, I think they were 1/16 collars, they worked fine.

Now, the other thing is the EXPO...if you put some exponential into the elevator and aileron, it will help to deaden the response of the right cyclic stick on-center quite a bit...I started off with about +25% on each. You can put that in without using any of the D/R switches, if you want. Just go to your menu for D/R + EXPO, and the expo settings are the ones on the right of the D/R, on the same line. Yours probably say INH, unless you have adjusted them already. Just highlight the expo, and raise the setting to about 20-25% on both the aileron and elevator settings, that will calm the on-center feel of the right stick quite a bit. Of course, you'll have to experiment, and find what works best for you, you may like more, or less that that.

You can actually play with that without flying the heli, just unplug the main and tail rotors, and watch the results as you change the settings...

Hope this helps, I hopefully helped someone for once, instead of ASKING all the questions!

Good luck with your CP Pro, I am having a blast with mine, now that I have it all set up!
