Default GP Tracer Trimming Question

Here's a question about trimming. After a few trim flights on my GP Tracer, I found that I had to put in a lot of engine downthrust to keep it from ballooning up with throttle increases. Unfortunately, there is now so much downthrust that the plane takes a lot of runway to get off the ground. Could this be corrected by reducing the amount of downthrust and decreasing the wing incidence?

Thanks for any help,
DFF
