1. Bashers can still benefit from lipo. You typically get a little longer runtimes than nimh mah ratings. Plus with lipo you can ge over and over again in the same day. Nimh they recommend no more than 3 cylces per day. You can do more but you'll shorten battery life.
I don't know about the cycles thing, I think you can cycle it as often as you want as long as you allow it cool down before ging or running.
But if you look at the examples I posted, like $35.00 for a 4000mAH LiPo, the cost of a cheap LiPo is getting very close to that of a NIMH. With gers coming down in price also, NIMH is probably headed the way of the MSC or the NICD battery. So if you are getting into it today, LiPo is definately the way to go from the start.
Its recommended that you do not, but it doesn't mean you can't. LRP NIMH care page [link]http://www.lrp-electronic.de/e/uploads/NiMH-Akkupflege-e.pdf[/link]. I'm not pretending to be an expert, just going by what I've read. If it truly takes 2-3 hours for them to cool internally then you probably wouldn't get a chance to charge them more than 3 times in a day.
