KISS will pobably work best here.

Multiple connections = more chances for air leaks to form.

FWIW I use a very simple setup where the clunk in the tank is made from a fuel filter and the line goes directly to the pump. Super simple and I don't need to purge anything. Can't tell if it's better than a UAT since I don't seem to have too many flameouts
