Default ESC Problems

Hi All, This is my first post here, so forgive me if it's wrongly formatted or the technique stinks!!

This is my first foray into Electric flying, in fact I haven't flown an aircraft since I did a bit of Control Line stuff back at school - some 40 years ago.

I've just completed a Wattage Impress trainer with the Electric motor that was supplied in the pack.

When I run it up to cycle the flight battery, after a short time, the ESC custs the power and the motor stops. Bringing the Throttle back to zero for one second and then back up starts the motor again.

I am using a 7 cell 8.4v 800mha set, with a Jeti 350 ESC and the supplied motor. The alarm tone suggests that the peak current for the ESC has been reached, but I was told that it should carry the load. The only other thing is that I'm cycling the new battery on the ground, so maybe something is overheating?

Has anyone any thoughts??

Cheers from the UK

Ric
