I don't have the moth, but I do have others from them.

1 - Yes the flying wires are meant to be functional. You can use metal clevis links at the junctions to make them easy to put on and off.

2 - I dislike taking the wings on and off on my biplanes. It is too much hassle and the screws are too easy to loose. So I only take the wings off for maintenance and haul my planes out with a trailer or van. If you don't have the space consider a smaller biplane or a monowinged plane.

3 - Yes they can be dissassembled for transport, but see 2.
