I think I'll wrap a rx in several layers of the covering and do a range check at home just to make sure, but what do you guys think? I've already covered the front deck of the plane in the stuff, and I really like how it looks. Matched with a carbon fiber prop and aluminum spiner, this thing will look good, but I don't want to block out the rx signal by covering the bottom of the wing if that is what will happen.
Thanks
That is a good idea.
I have read at some forums around here that indeed there is an interference between the Tx and Rx when using some kind of material (Aluminum covering) for covering that could impede the signal to reach each other. Remember that FM signals can travel trough walls but 2.4 ghz signal can drastically be interfered by a thick wall or in this case a type of covering that could difficult the reach of the signal. Even that this type of situations are very rare, your idea of covering the Rx with some layers of that particular material is great and I am very interested in knowing your results.
