I agree. The GP extra is a heavy plane. mine has a saito 100 and weighs over 6.5 pounds. The take offs are thrilling, but the landings are treacherous with that wing and high loading. If you decide to do it keep this plane as light as possible. Mine has standard servos and 1200 Ma battery. I may end up redoing the radio gear to save some weight. using HS81 servos for throtle, HS 225's for everything else and NimH battery saves over 1/4 pound, but it still will be relatively heavy.


A friend has one with the K&B 48. flies fine on that (although his is probably a little heavy too). I have an OS 50 on an SE. Excelent engine and a great combo. If you don't already have the GP 300, try the SE. It is 4.5 pounds of pure fun.
