VIC SET UP THE HBKS WITH A DEAN CONNECTOR

The first attempt to connect the batt. to the ESC was so difficult, the connectors are so tight

at the END of the first flight( trying to disconnect one of the poles (negative, I think) was ripped off and I need to re-solder it

any SUGGESTIONS from my more experienced group on how best to handle this problem ?
is THIS hardness / tightness the standard for DEANS ?
would it be better to have
some other kind, like the ASTRO FLIGHT, for example ?
