As long as your paints do not have any bad chemical reactions to each other you can use any paint you want.

I have heard the order to be Laquer, enamel, acrylic...
If you layer the paint sovent type in a different order, the Laquer will attack enamel and acrylic.
Or the enamel will attack the acrylic.

If you are unsure of the solvent type of your paints, paint a scrap piece of material and do some testing.
