Again since I don't know anything about 2 strokes, maybe do a little searching and find 2 different engines of nearly identical displacements but with different conrod lengths and mod them the same and compare the power. I see short rod engine as having more velocity in the air through the engine, maybe, and the long rod engine making more rpm? I don't know but that might be a path to take for modding research. Again, I really don't know about 2 strokes and with 4 strokes one gets into valve timing, duration and overlap and lobe separation and on and on...I enjoy just running them for fun but it would be interesting to see what you wind up learning.
