Well that's why I asked what it's supposed to do. Does it increase stability in any way? Also, these little birds are difficult to see sometimes outdoors do you think it might help with orientation?

When recently needing to replace the vertical tail support I noticed that in addition to the actual support rod, the package (part # EFLH1118) contained a thin white plastic fin (triangular-ish). Does any one have a suggestion as to how to attach this fin to the tail? Looks like maybe it should just be taped on. Should I use it or not? What good does it do?

Scott.....3M transparent tape is the norm but MANY of us just didn't bother putting the fin on.
