Maybe if you gave a bit more information about the engine it would help. Is the engine new, or how old is it, or have you ever run it since you've had it. As I was reminded recently, an engine needs three things to run, fuel, air and a spark and if all are present the engine should start.
It is quite possible that your testing fried the ignition, so your best option might be to send it back to Ralph and have him repair it. He can be very tolerant and just might do so under his warranty ..... maybe.
