Default RE: Model recommendations for use with a pulse jet?

Hi trofodotiki,

Pulse jets are seriously L O U D, please wear ear protection and make certain you fly where the noise won't anoy neighbours. I can't think of anything more certain to bring noise complaints. A pulse jet is much louder than a comparable modern turbine and at a frequency a sound pressure level that will permanently damage your hearing. That said there are some old plans for pulse jet models (control line) from the English and Australian magazines that could possible be adapted to R/C.

About forty years ago a mate built a control line model with a pulse jet, from memory the tank and engine were on the same level the flight lasted about three seconds from BLAST OFF to a crater.

Good Luck,

Colin
