Not sure how well the Gyro can handle hard landings and crashes.
I can tell you that the FMA Co-pilot part # CPD4 for $69 is the real deal.
Only drawback is its 1"X1"X1/2" infra red sensor that needs to be mounted outside causing some drag. And its performance gets weak over snow.
It works just as well in the pitch black night.
It was a deal at $125 for years till it became a steal for $69.

Lots of my friends and I have several each. It could be left on or toggled with on and off switch as you see fit.
