Hi,
I have a Telemaster 40 that I started building about 17 long years ago when my kids were small and I had spare time. Now that I'm a grandpa 3 times over, I thought I'd give it a try again! I am new to RC except for studying it endlessly from books, articles, magazines, the internet, and various other sources. I have been building balsa planes for 40 years now, so I think I'm ready to get this going again!
I had built a Sig Kadet Mark II about 25 years ago, equipped with a Futaba T4FN radio system, and an O.S. S35 engine. The plane met it's untimely death in a move, but the radio and engine have never been used. I know that the radio isn't legal anymore, (WHAT A BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!) but I really would like to put that brand new engine to work in the Telemaster. Being that the economy is what it is, I need to save every dime that I can, and the ratings from Hobby Lobby state .25 - .40 engine size is good.
My question is I wonder if anyone else has tried this, and does anyone know where I can get any more information About the O.S. S35? I have tried the O.S. website, but couldn't find anything that goes that far back. Like I said ,the engine is brand new, never run, and stored very carefully in an air tight plastic bag, along with the muffler that came with it.
I'd also like some thoughts on conventional vs tricycle gear with this engine, and some economical 4 channel radio equipment. I'm already done building the wing (without flaps) and need to get radio to finish the build.
I'm sure I'll have many, many, more posts with questions, but an any kind of help that anyone could give would be ah........ well, helpful!
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!
