I am newbie myself. I have been shopping alot so I do know what radios are cheap. The Tower Hobbies radios are actually Futaba. If you think your going to stay in the hobby the 6 ch would be they way to go. It has dual rate and expotential adjustments. its like $15 more. YOu can get a combo deal to buy the servos too.

I have been told the tricycle gear is best for beginers. Thats all I have used so far.
