RE: bv packs it in ?
Not to add fuel to the fire, but here is my first hand of what happened and a variation of what RB saw.
BV took his plane up and made a low pass down the length of the runway. Through the back half of the Parkflyer section and 3D section with 50CC models prop hanging and flipping around. At this point I was in line with the Parkflyer section and saw the jet come through it and the 3D section before yanking and banking into pattern. I headed in that direction. (this was relayed to me from the Flightboss and witnesses)The Flightboss spoke up to tell him to observe the 45. After the third time disregarding the flight pattern, the Flightbosses at the other ends notified the Jet coming through and Jeff (Event Organizer) told the FLB to tell him to land. Somewhere in the middle of that BV told the Flight Boss that "He would fly like he %%#$ wants too". He was told to land immediately. Could the FB have raised his voice? Absolutley. Was it warranted? In my mind after the blatant (mutiple) disregard for staff and the other pilots, yes.
BV berated the FLB, staff and event right then and there. The FLB went to Jeff to discuss it so he would be aware and Jeff approached BV to discuss it. BV began berating Jeff, the FLB and the event very colorfully. He threatened to pull his donation (earmarked BVM electra) from the Raffle. Problem was he didnt donate anything and Jeff told him he couldnt take back something he hadn't given. Jeff told him he was grounded until he apologized to both him and the FLB for his abusive language and berating. BV said that he will not apologize.
A bit later, BV took his plane down and flew again. With blatant disregard of the staff's decision. Jeff approached him and told him to land. More words were exchanged and Jeff asked BV to pack it up and told him the flack wasn't worth it. BV wanted to overstep Jeff and talk with Mac Hodges (owner). BV and Jeff went to talk with Mac and BV continued to berate everyone again directly too Mac. After the tirade Mac supported Jeff and Staff and suggested to BV that it was better if he packed it up and left.
I have my own opinions of the man from what I witnessed, but they are not important nor relevant to the account above.
