DT ... Thanks for the offer to send over a prop. I just have to get enough things on my wish list to make it worth while getting a package over from Tower. Thanks anyway. As far as our mean temp is concerned according to my atlas it is 55º - 60ºF. In real terms the coldest overnight low we would get is about 34ºF and hottest we get is about 86ºF. ( I guess thats pretty mild in international terms )We do get plenty of rain and wind. The South Island of NZ seems to have a lot more extreme climate.
Re. 61FX in the T_ _ _t. With the 61 mounted I had to move the battery back and add a little weight to the tail to get it to balance the same as the 70FS at 4 5/8. Even with the12 x 6 prop on it was awesome to fly. So effortless and responsive and man could it haul ***** if asked to. I had reliability issues with the motor (3 dead stick landings ) but still had a blast with it. It looks like it might be a little easier to hover for some reason.
As a matter of interest what servos are you guys using? I am just using standard JR ones and I wonder if I may be handicapping myself. Do I need to go digital?
2HI...How do you manage the time to mow all that grass, post so much on this thread, build planes and still have time to fly. Oh thats right you get the boss to paint the house. I guess with all that space wind direction is not a problem.
