First thing for you to do is go to the AMA's website and search for a charter club. Most clubs will have instructors that can help you out, and you're best off going to a club to fly/learn. Click the link below to get to the AMA's charter club search page:

Just plug in your zip code and you'll get a list of several clubs in your area. Then you can look at their websites and/or call the contact people to find out where the flying field is actually located, and get in contact with an instructor and set up a time to meet.

Some clubs and/or instructors may have a trainer plane that they would let you try out initially, but most will require you to purchase your own plane and equipment after one or two lessons.
