crimped on, lol. if you have a poor connection, you have poor power, it's just that simple. if your father can't see that, then hey, they're only 7 bucks or so for a hobbico brand iron, if you can get to your local hobby shop, grab one up for yourself, I'm sure you can scrape up 7 bucks ish.
