Its good to see you are finally going to make it...also a good idea to come in winter so you can get aclimatised. The 5th and 6th of July is the Coolum Jet meet it is held at the sunshine coast which is about 100km north of Brisbane..an hours drive north from the centre of Brisbane. Only 40 mins from my place, there will be quite a few jets there and there will be a few guys from New Zealand crossing the pond for this event as well. There are plenty of jobs here in Qld and also Brisbane so I wouldnt be too concerned about getting a job. Trained people are in big demand here especially since most have gone to the mines in central Qld and have left the main city in a drought of technical people. We went out to Dalby last weekend for the opening of their new field which is grass but is such a great place to fly at. We all camped out there for the weekend there are flushing toilets and hot nems and womens showers and electricity in the middle of a flat 5000 acre paddock with 1 tree in the whole place. Dalby is a only a 2.5 hr drive from Brisbane so it looks like us local jet guys will be going there regulary as well to fly our jets...the locals love us comming there. Last weekend 2 of the 3 Mibo A10 that are here in OZ flew out there and impressed us all with some formation flying. There were 9 or 10 jets out there and everyone had just a fantastic weekend.
