RE: Axe cp gy240 problems
After spending the majority of last night repairing the helicopter, I finally had a chance today to fly again and reevaluate the performance of the heading hold gyro. The tail more was still performing normally so I decided to try to hover it again. Nearly all of the vibration was gone and the helicopter actually flew great. Hard collective did not cause a noticeable amount of rotation, and the tail held quite well. There was a need to add a little bit more rudder input as the helicopter didn't change directions as quickly. There was a slight amount of a tail wag at the current setting. When rotating nose right the tail wag went away. When rotating nose left the helicopter seemed to accelerate in its rotation. This seemed like a problem that I encountered yesterday as I was pirouetting to the left and the helicopter suddenly began to spin uncontrollably.
I'm just glad the helicopter is back in the air again. The key is to set up your three and one to run normally and then run the heading hold gyro to run through it.
