In my neck of the woods, some of the AT&T field techs does make at least $48K. I am not one but a good friend is. I am in the software development field.
Anyhow, that is not very much at all because in the same location, a 20 year old house, 3 bedroom, 2 baths, are going in the rate of $400K and up. If you get lucky, you might be able to find one at $350K.
