Yep, there is a great tip about that very thing on Troy Built Models on their "Engines" page with the muffler info.
Installing an anchor from the engine box to the muffler on the opposite side of the exhaust flange will reduce breakage of mufflers and heads, as well as help keep things from loosening.

In my experience - the Ultra copper and Red Loctite does the trick, for sure!
